The Buick LaCrosse is all-new for 2017, and is now one of the most appealing choices in the large sedan category, says Kelley Blue Book® (KBB) in a new review. In fact, KBB calls it class-competitive on every level, and notes that the LaCrosse's quiet cabin and high-tech features are particular strengths.
The LaCrosse delivers Buick-level comfort with a strong body, sophisticated suspension, and sculpted, supportive front seats. In addition to the comfortable highway ride and responsive, confidence-inspiring handling -- thanks in part to a new 5-link rear suspension -- the LaCrosse has plenty of power (310 horsepower, 282 pound-feet of torque) via its new 3.6-liter V6 engine and smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. The lineup includes a version with big 20-inch wheels and an active suspension with Touring and Sport modes, but KBB suggests most LaCrosse buyers would do well to stick with the 18-inch wheel setup for superior ride comfort and no practical compromise in driving satisfaction. The LaCrosse also has a handsome new appearance. The familiar waterfall grille has been replaced by a lower-profile aperture in which a three-color grille and a stylish "wing" element are set a gainst a dark backdrop. Other design elements include a boldly contoured hood, familiar portholes, a characteristic haunch and a completely new rear end. Inside, a well-organized collection of buttons and knobs, frameless center display and European-like transmission selector distinguish a clean, modern interior.
